By “this” I mean a great piece here about theEpstein Filesby FreedomUnited. In a nutshell it says:
More than 100 lawmakers have signed a discharge petition to force a vote on legislation that would let Epstein survivors and state prosecutors sue the Department of Justice (DOJ) for withholding files on Jeffrey Epstein’s trafficking network.
That’s a good thing, the Epstein Files need to be released, like a year ago, but ok, now is good.
Representative Thomas Massie filed Discharge Petition No. 27 on September 1st alongside a bipartisan group, seeking a floor vote on H.R. 9694, the Epstein Files Transparency Act II. A discharge petition forces a bill to a vote if 218 representatives sign, bypassing the Speaker’s schedule. Within days, 106 lawmakers had signed.
Seriously, go read FreedomUnited’s pieceOver 100 US lawmakers push for Justice Department to release more Epstein Files. It’s not as simple as“here you go, here are the files.” It’s my understanding that this allows survivors to sue. Is this shit crazy or what?

“Massie’s petition currently has 106 signatures but needs 218 to force a vote,” the piece said. Those signatures need to be gathered bySeptember 17th! Aiy, yai, yai. 112 signatures in the next 4 days. When this is over, I want to see a list of those who did not sign. That’s something I want to know.
What I do know already is that the community here at Daily Kos is indeed a force.FreedomUnitedis asking for as many people as possible to contact their congress members and ask them to sign this petition. They make it easy by providing a link with a script:
