CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa —A countrywide tour ofan exhibit showing the Jeffrey Epstein filesstopped in Cedar Rapids Sunday.
Epstein survivors told Iowa's News Now they want to create conversations about the files, while also calling on Congress to take more action.
BACKGROUND: Jeffrey Epstein files exhibit sets eastern Iowa tour dates
The files, and a timeline of events, were on display outside of and inside a truck that had a picture of Epstein and President Donald Trump on it. On the truck's other side was a nameplate that says "The Donald J. Trump and Jeffrey Epstein Memorial Book Mobile." Trump has previously denied any wrongdoing or involvement with Epstein.
This exhibit was created by theInstitute for Primary Factsin partnership with Defiance, a nonprofit focused on calling out government corruption.
Two candidates for Iowa's 2nd Congressional District, Democrat Lindsay James and independent Dave Bushaw also showed up.
Bushaw said he respects "what these folks are doing" and that if elected he'd "support what the victims want and that is a full, unredacted file release."
Iowa's News Now reached out to the campaign of Republican Joe Mitchell, who is running against James, Bushaw, and Libertarian Rick Stewart, but couldn't get ahold of them. Mitchell and James will be participating in a debate with Iowa's News Now on Oct. 1.
Thetourwas in Iowa City and Des Moines this weekend. It'll be going back to Des Moines from Monday, Sept. 21, until Thursday, Sept. 24.
