Following rumors Sarah Ferguson is writing a memoir about the Jeffrey Epstein scandal that led to her and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s titles being stripped, her spokesperson set the record straight.

Followingrumorsthe former Duchess of York was nearing a seven-figure book dealfor a memoir detailingthe controversies she experienced in recent years,Fergusonhas emphasized that is not the case.
“She is not writing a personal memoir,” a spokesperson for Ferguson toldPeoplein a Sept. 25 statement, adding there was “no discussions” of a supposed book deal.
E! News has reached out to Ferguson’s reps for additional comment but has not heard back.
Though she isn’t in the market for a new memoir, Ferguson is no stranger to the literary world, having written several children’s books, historical novels and even memoirs released in 1996 and 2012.
Still, the66-year-old has been keeping a low profile in the past yearas the scrutiny into herex-husbandAndrewMountbatten-Windsor’s association with late sex offenderJeffrey Epsteinled to his brotherKing Charles IIIformallystripping him of his titles and honors, including the use of Prince, “His Royal Highness,” Duke of York and more in late 2025.
And though Ferguson and Andrew finalized their divorce in 1996, the former Duchess had retained the royal title—given to her byQueen Elizabeth IIupon her 1986 weddingto the monarch’s second son—in some areas of her public life.
However, after Andrew’s more formal separation from the royal family,Ferguson—popularly known asFergie—also dropped Duchess,removing the mention from her own social media accounts, changing her X username from @SarahTheDuchess to @sarahMFergie15.
Meanwhile, her and Andrew’s daughtersPrincess Beatrice, 38, andPrincess Eugenie, 36, retained their royaltitles.
In addition to no longer using their titles, both Ferguson and Andrewmoved out of the Royal Lodge, the 30-room mansion in Windsor Great Park where Andrew had been living since 2004—and shared with his ex-wife since 2008.
And despite their divorce, Ferguson has remained steadfast of her ex-husband throughout his public controversies.
“I won’t let him down,” she told theSunday Timesin 2024. “He supports me as much as I support him. He’s supported me through thick and thin, not just marriage or divorce. We agree on the three Cs—communication, compromise, compassion.”
The two had also maintained a close friendship, with Ferguson tellingPeoplein 2021, "Whatever challenges he has, I will stand firm to the co-parenters that we are together...I believe that he's a kind, good man, and he's been a fabulous father to the girls."
