MEMPHIS, Tenn — A Memphis nonprofit founder is facing a trespassing charge after authorities sayhe was caught on the private islandonce owned by Jeffrey Epstein, an incident that escalated into allegations he was forcibly restrained while on the property.
According to court documents filed in the Virgin Islands, Benjamin Owen was detained April 25, 2026, on Little Saint James, often called Epstein Island, where he told police he had traveled with others to take photos for his anti-trafficking nonprofit, We Fight Monsters.
Owen was later released on a $500 bond and charged with trespassing.
